Sunday's Run

1/8/10: SH4 – Bukit Hatamas Cheras
I was asked to be the sweeper and YM had her time for herself to run along with others.

As usual the trails are expected to be slippery. The run started towards the flats by the lake; a small but steep uphill climb on the now clearcuts surprised many and disgusted many on the once a beautiful jungle cleared for ‘development’; it was another hill climb after the short offtracks but this time, same steepness but longer; the turnbackers had enough and turned back here; the trail then went back into the jungle with long steep downhill till a river and shaggy; a steep climb too but short and downhill to cross the wide river plane and started the long killer climb that I saw many ‘tree huggers’, ‘stargazers’, ‘ground watching’, ‘tree supporters/leaners’ and the many more actions and names that come into mind; it was a real long uphill and by the time I ‘escorted’ the last one uphill, it was about 7pm; it was not that easy and the hare went a bit ‘angin’ and went round and round again among the hill tops to gain ‘some momentum’ before the last ‘assault’ uphill for a short distance and finally we were on some shed that seemed like ‘Stage 3’;  a long downhill and zig-zagging among the trails instead of going straight got us back at around 7:40pm. The ones that we escorted was totally exhausted! I took some slow walk throughout the run and picked many ‘leftovers’ like mineral water bottles and sorts. It should be best if everyone did their part not to liter in the jungle.

Back in the run site an offering by TungKwaLui and SunSinCheong of oranges while the smell of durians lulled me towards where it came from. The gathering around by the side saw the havoc of eating and CharSiew was cutting BBQ char siew while SiewPau was serving me a plate of food. Wow, great makan!
